Wynyard Church of England Primary School opened in September 2015 in temporary accommodation with 16 children and has rapidly grown to its current size of 160 pupils on roll. We will continue to grow in the coming years and our permanent school is due for completion in January 2019.
Our school offers pupils an exceptional learning experience, where children are encouraged to develop a love of learning and their talents and skills are nurtured by high-quality teachers. It is our aim that children make rapid academic progress in school, whilst experiencing a varied and creative curriculum. We offer a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities for our pupils including climbing, golf, music and fencing.
As a Church of England School we are part of the Durham Diocese of schools. The DDBE’s vision is to provide excellence and equality for all children in a Christian context. You can read more about the DDBE at www.durham.anglican.org. The DDBE oversees 51 primary schools across the Diocese of Durham, which stretches from the Tyne to the Tees. DDBE is very experienced in setting up and running schools and currently 94% of its primary schools are judged by Ofsted to be Good or Outstanding.
