Welcome to Class 1!
Class 1 is an exciting place to learn and play!
Our teacher is Miss McCabe and we are lucky enough to also have Mrs Whitton and Miss Jones, our teaching assistants in Reception, working with us for some of the day.
In Class 1, we are always very busy whether we are being writers, mathematicians, architects, artists, builders or musicians. Lots of our learning takes place through play, but we also enjoy our regular Phonics, Literacy and Maths sessions.
This term our topic is When I Grow Up… We started the topic by exploring with children what they want to do when they grow up. We will then be focussing on different careers each week, e.g. designers and architects; chefs and bakers; and scientists. Learning across the curriculum will then be linked to these weekly themes.

What’s been going on in Class 1?
As part of our new topic, we have been pretending to be shopkeepers and learning all about money!
We loved our Forest Schools Afternoon in the woods practising our counting skills, mud painting and learning how to light fires. The marshmallows were delicious!
We have all settled brilliantly into our new school and have had great fun making lots of new friends and learning new things!
