Welcome to Class 7!
Class teacher: Mrs Beattie & Mrs Smith
Teaching Assistants: Miss Robinson
The children in Class 7 have had a wonderful term studying the Vikings. We have loved reading ‘How to Train a Dragon’ by Cressida Cowell and produced some excellent stories and writing linked to the book.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our dragon art in class and have created wonderful dragon eyes using a wide range of media. All of the children enjoyed our very special visit from the Viking lady and had the opportunity to explore Viking artefacts and listen to amazing tales from the Viking times.
We look forward to starting our new Roman topic very soon. We will be writing our own ‘battle cry’ using Ipads in English with props to film our final pieces of work! We will be reading the legend of Romulus and Remus and will continue to work on developing our inference and deduction skills during reading sessions.
Capacity and weight will be the main focus in our maths lessons. We will use practical equipment and resources to develop our skills and understand in this area. Knowledge of properties of shape are to be developed and we will continue to work on the four operations and improve our problem solving and reasoning skills further.
In Science sessions our focus will be on movement and growth. We will work as a whole class and in small groups to take part in a variety of interesting investigations and experiments linked to animals, skeletons and nutrition!
We look forward to an exciting, busy term ahead in Year 3!
