Welcome to Reception! This term is all about helping children settle happily into school life, build new friendships and develop confidence as learners.
We will explore the key questions Who am I?, How do we make friends? and What happens in autumn? before moving on to discover How do people celebrate?, What is special about light? and What might we find in space? Through exciting stories, hands-on activities and outdoor learning, children will develop their communication, language, early reading, writing and maths skills.
Our learning will be enriched through special events including International Dot Day, Harvest celebrations, Bonfire Night, Diwali, Remembrance Day and Christmas activities, culminating in our Nativity performance. Children will begin the Read Write Inc. phonics programme, explore number and shape in maths, take part in PE and creative activities, and learn about the Christian concepts of Creation and Incarnation in RE.
We look forward to sharing a wonderful first term full of discovery, curiosity and memorable experiences.
