Through our PSHE curriculum, our goal is to provide children with the knowledge, understanding, skills, and strategies necessary to live healthy, safe, responsible, and fulfilled lives. The main areas of the curriculum focus on healthy, respectful relationships, with an emphasis on family and friendships, in all contexts, including in the real world and online. Teaching about mental health is essential in these subjects, in addition to the fundamental understanding of how to be healthy. The provision of opportunities for children to reflect on and clarify their own values and attitudes, as well as explore the range of values and attitudes they will encounter now and in the future, is a critical component of PSHE education. We aim to support pupils to acquire an understanding of British Values and Protected Characteristics which will help them make sense of their experiences, value themselves and others, appreciate difference and diversity, and be confident and informed citizens.
