Music

Music is an integral part of school life at Wynyard Church of England Primary School and we are passionate about engaging, inspiring and developing the musical talent and education of our pupils. Music is at the heart of our school community and there are many exciting opportunities available to pupils throughout their time with us. Children benefit from the opportunities to build their self-esteem and self-discipline through music and performance. Our music curriculum focuses on performing, appraising, composing and singing and children work collaboratively and individually to develop significant musical and performance skills. Throughout their time in school, children work with a variety of professional musicians, and they learn to play a variation of instruments-including guitar, percussion and ukulele. We welcome the Tees Valley Music Service in school to work with children and we offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities, such as school choir, individual music lessons and after school clubs. We celebrate the successes of our talented musicians and we trust that pupils leave with a comprehensive understanding of music.
