We have started our final term in Year 5 with our exciting London residential, and it is hard to believe how quickly it came around. Time flies when you’re having fun, and we have certainly been having lots of that in Class 12! We have made some incredible memories over the last few months, and we have many successes to celebrate! Last term, we achieved so much, and we grew so much, and we are ready to make this term our best yet…
Although we really enjoyed learning about the Maya and Mexico and we really appreciated our workshop with Dr Diane Davies, we are leaving the rainforest behind and delving into Greece and Ancient Greece. We areincredibly excited to explore Ancient Grek myths and Legends and we have already started to investigate our new text Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan. We are currently creating and sculpting our own mythical beasts, and we are using the work of Ray Harryhausen as inspiration for our own filmmaking.
In maths, we have moved from fractions to decimals and percentages, and we are already making significant steps to develop our understanding of these. This term, we will be spending some time considering how we grow and change, and we will be thinking about healthy lifestyles and how we can look after ourselves effectively. In science, we will be moving on to investigate forces and we will be conducting different investigations to explore the forces acting on objects. Here in Class 12, we are eager to enjoy the next few months in Year 5 and Class 12 is definitely the place to be! Let the fun times roll!
