Welcome to Class 6!
Class Teacher: Miss Highfield
Teaching Assistant: Miss Jones
The children in Class 6 have been working their socks off since they came back to school after the Christmas holidays!
Our Tuesday afternoon swimming lessons have now come to an end. All the children’s swimming skills and confidence in water have improved and all the children enjoyed swimming very much.
We have been using ‘Times Table Rock Stars’ in class and at home to improve our knowledge of the 2, 5, 10, 3 and 4 times tables in a fun and engaging way. The children absolutely love it and have been spending their well-earned virtual coins on some funky Rock Star equipment!
Lots of children can now join their writing and are well on the way to earning a pen license. The presentation of work in Year 2 is fantastic!
This term our topic is ‘Around the world- Wynyard Travel Agency’ and we will be learning about life in Africa and Antarctica, comparing lots of different aspects of life in those places We will be producing travel brochures and leaflets as well as non-chronological reports. In history, we will be learning about homes of the past and how life has changed since Victorian times.
We will be looking at statistics in Maths in relation to hot and cold places around the world.
This term, we will be working with a specialist on a Lego Robotics project, during which we will program Lego structures to move and produce sound and light.
As you can see, we have a very busy term ahead in Class 6 with lots of exciting things planned!
