Nursery & Reception Transition
Starting school is an important milestone in a child’s life and we know many parents will have questions about their child starting with us in Nursery or Reception. Hopefully, our transition events will ensure any questions you have are answered and give you and your child the opportunity to meet staff and visit our Early Years settings. Parents should have already received some information about our transition events from our Early Years leader, Miss Rebecca Jemmeson.
Meetings for Parents
Our first transition events are our meetings for parents. These are an opportunity for you to find out more about our Nursery and Reception provision and curriculum, meet our staff, visit our classrooms and ask any questions that you might have before your child starts with us. These meetings will take place on the following dates.
Nursery Transition Meeting- Tuesday 14th June 5.30pm
Reception Transition Meeting- Wednesday 15th June 5.30pm
Nursery Transition Sessions
Following our transition meeting for parents of children starting with us in Nursery in September, there will then be an opportunity to bring your child to visit Nursery on either the morning of Tuesday 12th July or the evening of Wednesday 13th July. These visits will be a chance for you and your child to visit the Nursery classroom and meet our staff. Further information about these sessions will be shared via email in the coming weeks.
Reception Transition Sessions
Our transition sessions are two sessions for children to attend without parents to help them make new friends and become familiar with the Reception environment and staff before September. The first session will take place on Wednesday 22nd June and the second will take place on Tuesday 12th July.
Wednesday 22nd June- Children should arrive at 12.45pm and be collected between 2.45pm and 3.00pm
Tuesday 12th July- Children should arrive between 8.30am and 9am and be collected between 1.00pm and 1.15pm. On this day children will stay for a school lunch.
