Starting school is an important milestone in a child’s life and we know many parents will have questions about their child starting with us in Reception. Hopefully, our transition events will ensure any questions you have are answered and give you and your child the opportunity to meet staff and visit our Early Years.
Our first transition events are our drop-in evenings. These are an opportunity for you and your child to visit our Reception classrooms, meet our Reception staff and ask any questions that you might have. We will be holding two drop-in evenings this year on Tuesday 22nd June and Wednesday 23rd June, with three available time slots at each. If your child is due to start Reception with us in September, you should have received an email with further information from Miss Jemmeson, our Early Years leader, including details of how to book a place at one of our drop-in sessions.
Our transition sessions are two sessions for children to attend without parents to help them make new friends and become familiar with the Reception environment and staff before September. The first session will take place on Wednesday 30th June and the second will take place on Tuesday 6th July.
Wednesday 30th June- Children should arrive at 12.45pm and be collected at 2.45pm
Tuesday 6th July- Children should arrive between 8.30am and 9am and be collected at 1.15pm. On this day children will stay for a school lunch.
Prior to our transition sessions, we ask all parents complete a Reception Transition Form, which can be downloaded below.
